Dr Anand Dixit is a consultant physician specialising in stroke and general medicine at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Dr Dixit graduated in year 1991 with a ‘Gold Medal’ in the subject of medicine. He completed his certificate of specialist training in general and geriatric medicine in 2006 which included three years of clinical research in acute stroke management. He was awarded a fellowship in 2010.
Dr Dixit was appointed as full-time consultant physician in stroke and general medicine in Newcastle in 2006. His other roles include being:
- a lead physician for stroke services;
- research and educational lead for stroke services;
- member of the stroke advisory group at the regional cardiovascular network;
- trainee programme director and regional speciality advisor for the speciality of stroke medicine; and
- a member of the National Stroke Advisory Committee.
