Welcome to the Colposcopy Clinic
You have been referred to the Colposcopy Clinic at the RVI; please find enclosed an appointment and information leaflet.
It is important that you wear a mask to attend your appointment if you test positive for COVID-19 or have any symptoms.
If the appointment slot is not convenient you must telephone the appointments booking centre to alter it so the appointment slot will not be wasted and can be offered to another patient – please call them on 0191 2824444.

Directions to the Colposcopy Clinic – RVI
Access Via the Lift Route:
- Directions when entering the New Victoria Wing (from Queen Victoria Rd).
- Turn immediately right, past the “Plastic Surgery and Hand Clinic”.
- Take the first right and you will be in the lift lobby.
- Take the lift to level 2.
- Turn immediately right out of the lift, the “Women’s Health Unit” is straight ahead of you, through the double doors.
- If you are entering via the other New Victoria Wing entrance (next to the reception desk) you turn right past the shop then left at the exit doors, you will see “Plastic Surgery and Hand Clinic” then follow the instructions above.
Access via Escalator Route:
- Enter the New Victoria Wing (from Queen Victoria Rd).
- Go straight ahead past the shop (which is on your right) to the escalators.
- Take the escalator to level 2.
- Turn right along the corridor past the café on your right.
- Go through the double doors and then turn immediately right
- Go to the end of that corridor and the “Women’s Health Unit” is at the end on your left.
- If you are entering via the other New Victoria Wing entrance (next to the reception desk) go straight ahead and then up the escalators and follow the instructions above.
