The aim of these days are
- Lectures
- Simulation training
- Skill stations – practical procedures, preparing critical care infusions etc
There are three types of READI Days Ran throughout the year.
READI Foundation
The day is based on a real paediatric case and flows through an ABCDE approach to preparation for transfer.
It is aimed at 3rd year/junior paediatric student nurses, ODPs and other allied health professional who feel that they would benefit from this level of training.
The day is taught by experts with experience in transferring paediatric patients. There are lots of fun interactive workshops to help you learn in an engaging way.
READI Intermediate
This day is to help prepare the multi-disciplinary team in the stabilisation and preparation for transfer of critically sick children. The day is taught by clinicians with experience in stabilisation and transfer of paediatric patients. The morning consists of interactive workshops aimed at addressing key learning points in a small group setting, while the afternoon consolidates this learning through the use of two simulations.
This day is aimed at senior nurses/ODPs (2+ years experience), nurse practitioners, junior and senior doctors who are involved in the stabilisation and transfer of Paediatric patients.
READI Anaesthetics
This day is designed around converting adult intensive care knowledge for use in the stabilisation and preparation for transfer of critically sick children. The day is taught by clinicians with experience in stabilisation and transfer of paediatric patients. It consists of small group workshops designed to address the common difficulties faced by intensivists and anaesthetists when stabilising sick children. The afternoon will consist of simulations designed to consolidate this learning.
This day is aimed at of Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Consultants, although senior registrars who have been on the READI Intermediate day may also benefit from this day.
