Ward 30 is an adult surgical ward which cares for people who have had surgery on the heart, lungs or other organs in the chest, including:
- Heart surgery
- Surgery on the chest or organs in the chest
- Heart, lung, and heart and lung transplant surgery
You will have cardiac rehabilitation meetings daily. These will be either on the day of your discharge, or the day before you are discharged home. Your family or a carer may also be invited to come along to this meeting.
Ward visiting times
- Monday to Friday 2-4pm and 6-8pm
- Saturday and Sunday 2-8pm
Close friends and family members may visit seriously ill patients at any time following discussion with the ward sister or nurse in charge.
Location of ward
Ward 30 is based in the Cardiothoracic Centre. This is set to the right of the Freeman Hospital as you look at the front.
Come into the Cardiothoracic Centre and take a right turn, round by the reception desk.
Follow the corridor past the Lung Function Department until you see the lifts or stairs on your left.
Take the lift or stairs up to level 4 and turn left out of the lifts or right at the top of the stairs.
Follow the corridor and turn right at the end of the corridor until you reach Ward 30 straight ahead.
