Dr Vidrine and her team are involved in the care of patients throughout their cancer journey including those having treatment with curative intent, helping support patients and their teams with the symptoms (such as pain and chemotherapy induced nausea & vomiting) and psychological challenges that having cancer brings.
Dr Vidrine’s subspecialist interest is in the supportive care needs of patients with haematological malignancies, particularly those having treatments such as stem cell transplants and CAR T-cell therapy. She has been the chief investigator on studies looking at the patient and carer experience as they undergo novel therapies for blood cancer.
She is part of several national collaborations looking to further the area of ‘supportive care’ in cancer centres around the country and have presented nationally (As part of the UK association for supportive care in cancer) and internationally (as part of the Multinational association for supportive care in cancer) on our work here in the North-East.
