Urgent treatment centres
Urgent treatment centres can be used if you need urgent attention for illness or injury which is not life-threatening but cannot wait.
- Molineux UTC is open from 8am until 8pm, 7 days a week
- Ponteland Road UTC will remain open from 8am until 10pm, 7 days a week.
Centres are staffed by doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants, which means that you will receive the best possible treatment and advice from the most appropriate person.
Urgent treatment centres can assess and treat:
- Cuts, sprains and strains
- Minor burns and scalds
- Infected wounds
- Grazes
- Bites and stings
- Possible broken bones
You can use the urgent treatment centres located in Newcastle seven days a week:
Or you can use the minor injuries unit at the emergency department in the Royal Victoria Infirmary in the city centre.
