Dr Javed Ahmed is a Consultant Cardiologist at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital where he specialises in interventional cardiology, coronary angioplasty, stenting heart disease, and treating hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
Dr Ahmed underwent specialist registrar training in cardiology at the Regional Cardiothoracic Centre, Northern General Teaching Hospital, Sheffield, United Kingdom. He subsequently spent three years at the world’s largest interventional cardiology centre, The Washington Heart Centre at Washington DC, USA.
He then consolidated his training in general and interventional cardiology with the world’s most renowned interventional cardiologists (Dr M B Leon, Dr Augusto D Pichard, Dr Gary S Mintz, Dr L S Satler, Dr R Waksman and Dr J Laird).
Dr Ahmed has written a book and had over a hundred publications in international journals.
