Mr Tafadzwa Young-Zvandasara is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Newcastle Eye Centre, Royal Victoria Infirmary specialising in vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina and cataract surgery.
Mr Young-Zvandasara’s undergraduate medical degree was completed at the University of Dundee whereafter he spent time in Glasgow, Derby and Wales for his Ophthalmology training. He also completed a masters degree in Engineering at Cardiff University.
He carried out fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery in New Zealand: Christchurch and Auckland, and his main research interests are in retina, diabetes as well as bringing Engineering principles and technology further into medicine.
Mr Young-Zvandasara is a former Clinical lead for the North of Tyne and Gateshead Diabetic Eye Screening Programme.
