Dr Mark Anderson is a Consultant Paediatrician at the Great North Children’s Hospital specialising in acute and general paediatrics, paediatric pharmacology including toxicology inherited metabolic disease, and paediatric epilepsy.
He is also the Clinical Director for the Great North Children’s Hospital.
Dr Anderson completed a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Durham University in 1995 before attending medical school at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2000.
He has worked in paediatrics since 2001, training in the East and West Midlands, including completing training in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, with a period of research and training in paediatric epilepsy.
Dr Anderson returned to the North East in 2010 where he oversees the regional paediatric inherited metabolic disease service, supported by colleagues in Manchester.
He is employed by the National Poisons Information Service as paediatric adviser.
