The TV presenters will be at Centre for Life this Tuesday with special anniversary news programme Lockdown Live: What Next?
Newcastle is to host a live BBC news programme this week which will mark a national day of reflection as we reach the one-year anniversary of the first lockdown.
TV journalists Naga Munchetty and Nick Robinson will be at the Centre for Life on Tuesday for the special programme, Lockdown Live: What Next?, which looks back on a year of Covid and how the pandemic has changed our lives.
The pair will examine some of the biggest lockdown stories of the past 12 months and will be joined by a panel of guests who have stories to tell about the impact of the crisis.
Among them will be some of the female scientists who play a leading role in research and treatment at Life.
BBC Breakfast presenter Naga and Today presenter Nick also will look ahead and examine how the world is likely to to change beyond the pandemic.
One of the reasons Newcastle was picked to host the special show is that its RVI hospital treated the UK’s first Covid-19 patients.
Various regions across the UK also will feed into the live programme with their own reports.
On the same day as the broadcast, Nick also will present BBC Radio 4’s Today programme from Life and Naga will follow up with her own BBC Radio 5 live programme.
The Today programme will air on March 23 at 6am-9am on BBC Radio 4 and the BBC Radio 5 live radio show will be from 10am-1pm.
‘Lockdown Live: What Next?’ then will be broadcast to the nation from 7pm to 8pm on BBC1.
